Wondering if anyone (developers?) can address the author alias questions that have been around the forums.

Items authored by aliased non-users:
- Have a dead author link on the article page (can the linked be turned off automatically for authors without author pages? or can it be custom set so it might link to a non-user author's own home page?)

- Items do not list other articles by the same aliased author at the bottom

- Have no author information (not sure how this CAN be resolved without being a user)

There may be other issues with aliased authors - but these are affecting me on a large News site. Any chance this is going to be addressed in 2.2? Or is there a way to hack it myself?

I agree with Martha. This is really troublesome. I use K2 on a magazine website and lots of articles are written by authors that are not users in the Joomla system. I would like to:

- list articles from the same author alias
- have the "author" name linkable to a list of articles

There must be a way to make K2 handle author alias as Joomla core.
