Author info now missing was created by Kannan Naidu Venugopal
Hi, i had the author info setting not to display few weeks ago, but now when i enable it to show, it's not showing. I've checked the parameters - it's set to show, in the Category--Item view listing - it's set to show and i've tried the Item--Item view listing - switching between inherit from category and show but still i dont see the author's info.I am not sure if i've missed any setting but i can't seem to display the author's info even if it's set to Show. I managed to hide it but now when i enable back again, it's not showing.Any pointers, advice or solution will be highly appreciated.

lol,....I would suggest ginko-biloba. (Memory pill)
Check your item.php of yout template,..if these code is there:..........
Then shake n rack your brain to remember what category it is,....it could be inheriting from a totally different category, or it could be as simple as the cache.

Hi thanks for the reply and the pill recommendation :D
I've checked the item.php, there is code below the authors tag
Cleared browser and joomla cache but still dont see it. and i've also checked the categories, the articles are in the correct category.

OK. I've found the problem, i am not sure if it's a bug or it's meant to be like that. If you leave the default authors name, it will show up but as soon as u add an author's alias in the article or item, the author's details doesn't display.
In my case, the author is Administrator but i am using an Author alias, and it didn't show.
Can this be solved by changing the php codes? Please advice.
Thank you.

Thats because the author alias is not associated with the author name.
Remember: This is all queried from the DB.
So when you set your authors,....add all the info that you need.
