Plugin for PDF display? was created by Oceanwatcher
I have a customer that would like to put PDF's online so the reader can read through them like in a magazine/book.Have you ever used a plugin like this? How much did it cost? (we do not mind paying for the plugin). How difficult was it to get to work?Did it have an easy way to integrate with K2? How good is the support?I am mainly after tips about plugins that you have personal experience with, but if you really have the urge to suggest a plugin that you have not tried yet, feel free to do so too. There might be some there that I have overlooked :-)

Why not just upload the pdfs to the site and create a link in the k2 item or joomla article to them to open in a new window.
sandbox test
pruittfh.com/index.php/pdftest
or or you looking for page peal effects?

I in no way meant what You typed. I tried for quite a few minutes to get a pdf plugin to display inside the fulltext area of a K2 item and it wouldnt render correctly. I think what Svein was wanting was a bit more polished that my idea especially because some people have browzers set to display pdfs and some download the file and require more clicks to view the pdf.

Yes... I am after what you might call a page flip plugin. Adding a pdf to a K2 article goes without saying - this is, after all, the forum for advanced K2 users ;-)

All kidding aside - for some reason beyond my comprehension, the customer is totally bent on having such an effect. Personally, I find it utterly useless, a kind of bling that just adds more complexity and more weight to a perfectly good site...

So any good tip here is welcome. I have done a lot of searches, but it is hard to find people that do have hands on experience with any solutions.

What you want is to show an extrafield INSIDE the pdf? Or do you just want to use an extrafield to show that the pdf is there?

I was actually able to convince my customer to just add the pdf as an attachment and then the reader will decide what to do with it. Works for me :-)
