How do I add a link to my main menu for the Add Item command?

I want users to have immediate access to the Add Item light-box so they can create/edit their items.

You need to use the mod_k2_login module.
If the users that login have the permission to edit/add items then they will see the link, otherwise they won't.

I am using JomSocial and have disabled the mod_k2_login module because I need the sign-up options presented by the JomSocial login module.

So I need to create a separate main menu link for Add Item. Do you know how I can create one?
