I really dont know what I am doing wrong. My category-structure is like this:

Category1

   Category 2   Category 3   Category 4

I found out the I have to do the settings in the CATEGORY DISPLAY OPTIONS. I have set Category1 to show up everything (Title, Counter, Image, Description). I also went to category 2,3 and 4 and I activated all options there too.

Now my problem: The category description item is shown only on category 2,3 and 4. When I do changes in the options for those categories, everthing shows an effect.

But Category 1 is showing nothing. Doesent matter which settings I chose - there is no reaction for this category.

Are there any other possibilites, I really want to get this to work.

EDIT: The categories are not inherit other items! Im using the default theme!

 

Okay I have solved this by myself - After 3 hours!! I dont know why but it has something to do how the menu-items are set and which categories should be display for the menu link. when I just let the main category beeing displayed its working.
