Building new version of website in Joomla v.1.5.22 / Phoca v. 2.7.8 / K2 v. 2.4.1

The white box should be centred and shouldn't stick out at the right.



The thumbnails should be centred within the white area when it isn't sticking out at the right.

 

And the white background should be transparent so the background is visible.

 

Q1: How do I do that please?

 

Secondly I want the image name (without the .jpg) on each image's border, bottom left, and that name should be a hyperlink to the individual relevant pages.

 

Q2:  How do I do that please?

 

Please don't get too technical.
