i have a rather strange issue with both the core breadcrumb and using k2 tools in breadcrumb mode.

Both work just fine on the whole site, only three of the sub categories wont show a path and just goes blank. however if i open an article from these three categories the breadcrumbs show correctly.

 

What could be causing this? i have checked these three categories against existing ones and i see no difference in settings etc. I cleared all the cache and disabled it for core breadcrumb and k2 tools as well, but no luck.
