I have a couple of site that employ the former? Latest Tweets module
I understand that Twitcher went under, but are you planning on updating this software?

Hello Meghan,
We are looking into a possible replacement.
At the moment there are RSS feeds, www.labnol.org/internet/twitter-rss-feed/28149/ and you can display them through SRFR ( www.joomlaworks.net/extensions/free/simple-rss-feed-reader )
