Editing existing articles in a joomla template w/ K2 installed running Apache & php 7.x

saving K2 article throws an error: Undefined function iconv()

The articles then fail to load small image icons under the main article image. Only shows the 'broken image' icon. Clicking on the icon brings up the small image referred to in the Undefined function (iconv) in a lightbox.

Hello Bruce, this seems like a template issue, can you try browsing using the default Joomla! template?
