Hi,
any chance I can get the comments for displaying Item in to a module so I can play with its position?

Hello,

Unfortunately no, you have to override the item.php file - getk2.org/documentation/tutorials/174-templating-with-k2-and-the-concepts-of-sub-templates - in order to change the position.
