Fatal error: Class 'K2Model' not found in .../r was created by Lex Thoonen
Hi,
I was on joomla 3.6.2 and it told me to update. I updated the extensions first, then updated joomla to 3.6.4. I don't think I did anything to K2, and I have 2.7.1 installed.
The backend still works fine, but the frontend doesn't and error reporting says:
Fatal error: Class 'K2Model' not found in /home/grancanariainfo/public_html/components/com_k2/helpers/route.php on line 311
(above it a whole list of warnings, these two a lot of times but with different line numbers:
Notice: Use of undefined constant K2_JVERSION - assumed 'K2_JVERSION' in /home/grancanariainfo/public_html/plugins/search/k2/k2.php on line 167
Notice: Use of undefined constant K2_JVERSION - assumed 'K2_JVERSION' in /home/grancanariainfo/public_html/components/com_k2/helpers/route.php on line 184
)
What should I do?
Thanks!

Hello the notices will not affect your site's functionality.
In production sites you should disable the error reporting.
Now, can you try the following?
a) Install K2's DEV version github.com/getk2/k2
b) Disable all 3rd party K2 extensions.

Thanks Krikor, for your reply!
It took me almost two weeks to recover from what happened mentally, but today I decided to give it another shot.

What should I do?
Thanks!
It took me almost two weeks to recover from what happened mentally, but today I decided to give it another shot.
I did this:
- update joomla
- update k2 master zip
- clear cache
- error reporting maximum
lots of these warnings on the frontend homepage::
Notice: Use of undefined constant K2_JVERSION - assumed 'K2_JVERSION' in /home/grancanariainfo/public_html/components/com_k2/helpers/route.php on line 184
and:
Fatal error: Class 'K2Model' not found in /home/grancanariainfo/public_html/components/com_k2/helpers/route.php on line 311
- disabled all k2 plugins
- homepage: page not found (no more error reporting, joomla sef plugin takes over and shows 'matches')
- enabled k2 system plugins
- back to fatal error again, k2model
- restored backup
What should I do?
Thanks!

Hello Lex,
Which K2 plugins are you using?
Can you try using a different template?
