K2 Media Manager Blank was created by dan_t
Hi

I've updated K2 from 2.7.0 to 2.7.1 and now our K2 Media Manager is blank and the browse server button (when adding images to items) is also showing a blank screen.

I've disabled caching, gzip and set error reporting to none. I've also tried disabling all 3rd party plugins and extensions but all tna.

These are the only JS errors I can see in Web Developer Tools Console - screencast.com/t/qSfqLUWhJ

Can you please advise anything I can try to resolve this issue?

Kind regards
Dan

Hello Dan,

JS errors can cause this error.
Make sure that jQuery and jQuery UI are being loaded properly and loaded before all other scripts.

Hello Krikor

Thanks for your reply. I've checked the loading scripts, I'm sure if this looks correct or not?

To confirm, we're just using the default ISIS administrator template on Joomla 3.6.4

Not really,

There are two instances of jQuery. This can be the cause.
I would suggest trying jQuery Easy to see if that does the trick.

I've installed Jquery Easy and that seems to be working fine on the frontend, but doesn't seem to be taking effect via the Joomla backend. I'm getting exactly the same scripts loaded, in the same order, as before the plugin was installed. I can't see anything in the plugin settings to enable the plugin for backend screens, do I need the commercial version of the plugin for that?

To the best of my knowledge (I can be wrong) it offers backend functionality as well.
Have you tried contacting them?

I've made further attempts to see what conflicts are causing this issue and discovered that if I changed from isis admin template to Hathor, the K2 Media Manager and Browse Server buttons both started working again. I found a forum post for someone else who was having the same issue and suggested the following fix

Problem solved by commenting out
administrator\components\com_k2\helpers\html.php
the if/else($mediaManager) lines

This also works for me but obviously not ideal changing a core K2 file. Is there a safer way to prevent this script from loading jquery 1.8.3?

Can you give a list of which extensions are you using?
Can you doublecheck with 2.7.2?

I'd disabled all 3rd party extensions (Akeeba Backup, Admin Tools, Simple Image Gallery Pro, JCE, JA K2 Filter, sh404sef, Xmap) trying to narrow down which one was causing the issue but tna.

I've downloaded 2.7.2 though and that seems to be working fine, many thanks.
