So on November 20th, 2016 when looking in googles wmt it says there was an update. About all i can find on it is that it more accurately indexes pages. When this happened i gained about 1000 more indexed pages that were all duplicates. Previously i had gone into k2's item parameters->advanced->sef and then turned off "use item ID in url" which wokred fine up until this update. Now it seems google still sees them. Does any one have any beneficial info on this?

You can use a canonical tag extension or manually build the tag in order to solve this issue.
