I have a Joomla site (v. 3.6.4) with online shop K2 (v. 2.7.0 ) and K2 store (v. 3.8.3 ).
Suddenly there is a huge difference in my site.
Specifically, one of my Menus is empty and all the menu items have been moved to trash.

Although last night I had emptied the trashed folder (which contained 999 menu items), today there are more than 1300 trashed items into the trash and the menu is empty!

The problem is very serious! All the work that had been done is gone!
Can you please help me?
Why did this happen and how can I fix it?

K2 will not affect your menu items.
I do not know the source of this issue.
