Can't upload images-no preview was created by Angela Pranata
Hi,
Just purchased FrontPageSlideShow, the new version (FrontpageSlideshow-v3.2.0_j1.5-2.5.zip).
I'm using Joomla 1.7. Don't have Joom!fish and not going to use it in the future.
PROBLEM: It will not upload my image. The wheel keeps on turning... and turning.. and when it stopped, there is no image preview. I was able to save. But nothing comes up when I click "Quick Preview". Again, the wheel keeps on turning and turning... I was able to do "quick preview" of the sample slides.
I think I have all the requirements. My PHP Info: 0356a1e.netsolhost.com/phpinfo.php
Folder permission (SAME FOR ALL SUB-DIRECTORIES - 755):
It will not upload my image. The wheel keeps on turning... and turning.. and when it stopped, there is no image preview.
No Image Preview after wheel stop:
I was able to save. But nothing comes up when I click "Quick Preview". Again, the wheel keeps on turning and turning...
I was able to do "quick preview" of the sample slides.
Please help?

The document said I can use 755 or 777. Should I change it to 777?
Please help.... ???????????????????????????????????????????????
And FYI, the current slideshow on my frontpage is NOT fpss. It's from my website template.

I have noticed similar behavior and it is a permissions issue with /media/fpss
At times I have to reset the permissions to 775 for everything in the media folder to clear it up but after selecting a new pic on the next slide I have to fix perms once again on the media folder.
It almost seems like whatever is writing to the media/fpss/cache folder is changing the permissions for that folder.
Just something I forgot....Anyone who uses a chmod 777 is asking for trouble!
Better to use a 775 at most. You don't want to give anyone read, execute AND write privs thats the fast track to getting hacked!

I am having the same problem, what I can do? Change the permissions effectively solve the problem? a very old edition of the component (Frontpage Slideshow v1.7.1) works well, but I had problems using Joomfish, so I bought this new version.

@asphyx, camji,
First of all check your memory limit. If this is ok, please install Admin Tools from www.akeebabackup.com/ in order to fix your permissions as they should be and then reinstall the extension.

memory limit is currently listed as 32M. Necessary increase? I have a hosting, so I'm not sure how I can make this increase indirectly. It is necessary to create a php.ini in the application folder?
