You can achieve what you want by using overrides. You create a folder com_k2/submitform/ inside your template's /html folder and in there you copy the file itemform.php from /components/com_k2/templates/default/.

Then you can safely use HTML comments to hide out the parts of the form you don't want. Last step is to create a menu item TO that form in Joomla. Select the K2 item form option for menu link and make sure you select the "submitform" sub-template you basically created earlier.

I've done it all up to the menu creation. I only get two options when selecting the template, that being default or the K2 Custom template I downloaded earlier.

Is the default one referring to the the template I've put in the submitform folder?

Thanks

Edit: I'm going to sound stupid here but...... I haven't been able to find the form in the menu select, I get to the K2 item form option, but can't find where to select the form?

OK, worked out that I should have created the submitform folder inside the template directory.

But now it comes up with a 404 error whenever I click it from the menu?

Nope, haven't worked it out.

I've created a category with the submitform template

Created a new item in that category

Created a menu to that item

The item displays as a standard item in I set the menu to k2 item

If I set the menu to k2 item edit form I get a 404.

What am I missing?

how you solved it...
i'd try the instruction but failed..

this is what i did...

1.i created folder "submitform" in my default template bezz20/html/com_k2/
2. i pasted the itemform.php inside submitform folder.
3. i create a menu for k2>item edit form
4. save it.

when i run it and refresh.. there is no changes..
and i already edit itemform.php inside submitform.

please help..

regards
