K2 Template Override wont load was created by Tijuana Mou Cartelli
Hi all, I have K2 2.5.1 on Joomla 1.7.2, I'm trying to override the default template.

The override template name is shown correct on my backed

, but when I save the template override selection via Category (or via menu selection) with the element inspector I've noticed that the k2.css is get from the original folder, and not the from the overrided one .. :(

I've read some old posts on this error that can be caused by some SEF options but I suppose my settings are correct (see screenshot attached...)

Css Override won't work with K2 itself.

You can do it by using CSS4K2 from Jiliko

Hi, thanks for your answer!
I already downloaded CSS4 K2 to get a try, but I didn't find a way to get my override works , I cant find explain in the Jiliko site :|

explain:
Keep k2 Css to NO: every style goes away, no override
Force original category theme YES or NO: nothing happens
Force default Theme YES or NO: nothing happens
Allow multi Css YES or NO: nothing happens

I simply put the entire override package in root/templates/my_joomla_template/html/com_k2/my_k2_template/
I dont believe that it could be wrong because in the backend I find the way to select the dedicate template I create :(

any help?

thanks a lot

First plz forget the last two Screens for Template Override - they have nothing to do with it.

If u use css4k2 just do what the Info says :

Like I see you have succesfull used your Template Override for the Template "Thema"

now you just have to Copy the k2.css ind the "thema" Folder and name it to : thema_style.css
First of all dont change the css4k2 "standard Options"

If this dont work plz tell me which steps you made - Step by Step plz.

I find the mistake! :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

I keeped the style in the original subfolders (../CSS ) without renaming it "my_k2_template_style.css", keeped as "ks.css", now I bring the css style one level up and worked :cheer: :cheer:

but now my answer is ... what about the /HTML and /IMAGES folder override?

for example, HTML folder has the subfolders "com_k2" , "mod_k2_comments" , "mod_k2_content" etc etc .. I need to put everything in one big folder? and rename everything in (for example) "my_k2_template_category.php" ?

just copy the folders example (com_k2/images/placeholder) from com_k2/images/ in your joomla_template/imagesfolder/

Dont rename the .php files - just copy them to your Override Template.

See here.

Obviously I didnt receipt this guide in the right way!

Now there's other problems, the introductive text is again bold (with the option to ignore introductive text style activated) and the tweet/fb/print/email are gone away forever, but the configurations are ok...

Disabling css4k2 didnt works :(, no buttons and gigantic introductive text :(

Cant understand what happened but everything gones away after the override :(

maybe I need to reinstall everything? :(
