Hi,
Last 2 months i am testing all features about this excellent component. One of this features is subtemplate manager.
I think this feature brings an universe of posibilities to customize your joomla site.

Well, I start working on the K2content module subtemplate and by now, I had create 2 subtemplates that works fine.
Now i want to customize the Category menu Item layout and category layout, but the problem is that i can not select the diferent subtemplate folders i had created.

At the subtemplate dropdown menu at category layout, just appear "--Use default--" instead folder names at template root. See attached images "subtemplatecategory.jpg" and "subtemplatemenu.jpg" and wach the diference with k2content module, image "subtemplatek2modules.jpg"

I had copied to "mytemplate/html/comk2/templates/" default folder from the k2component folder and i know it works because after copied the joomla template override feature do its job because if i want to do any change i should do it under template root instead k2component root.

Can JW tell us if this feature was disable for any reason, or does anybody same trouble?

Hi. The path should be mytemplate/html/com_k2/templates/yourK2templatefolder. The feature is still in the component....

I have same path(i miss write underscore at com_k2 at the first post) but i am sure that its the correct path. As I said, K2 load template from template folder instead component folder, after copied to it, so for some reason it does not allow to chose template from dropdown menu.

Defenitly something must be wrong. I checked at 4 dev sites with 3 different templates and does not work, and also i check dev site from another user of this comunity, and has same issue.

Hi. In order to get able to find the problem can you post the path where your template folder is? Please include the folder name on the path.

Hi. The "default copy" is an actual folder name? If yes then try to rename it to something more safe like default2. Maybe spaces in folder names are causing trouble in some systems.

I found what was wrong. Its not spaces, but its on folder name.

What it is wrong is use "default" word at any folder name. As you said if i use "default2" name, it won´t work. If a use "newtemplate_default" name, it won´t work.
Little more examples, where X are any name or word:


xxxx_default not work
default_xxxx not work
xxxxxdefault not work
xxxdefaultxx not work
defaultxxxxx not work
default xxxx not work
xxxx default not work


In short, use the "default" word anywhere in the name of the template, will make the subtemplate selection not work.

I forgot to say that if you have more than one subtemplate folder and anyone of them include "default" word on its name it won´t work subtemplate dropdown menu. It just allow one or none folder named "default" no more.
