url rewritting was created by Philippe Ranc
hello,
i'm a new user of k2 and i'm realy enjoying this plugin.
now i'm making a small web site but i've a problem with the url's.
it's complicate to explain: i think there is a problem in the order of the url's writting.
i've tried different way to resolve my problem.
First, with the .htaccess (attachment) and all the SEF joomla option on, the result is the following:
when i clik on the menu, here is what i get
dev.snick.ch/les-costumes/le-personnage
but it's false. It must be
dev.snick.ch/le-personnage/les-costumes
And, on the page, when i want to see the other part, here is what i get
dev.snick.ch/les-bulles-de-savon&Itemid=85/les-animations/les-ateliers
and it must be
dev.snick.ch/les-animations/les-ateliers/les-bulles-de-savon
When all the SEF option of jommla are off, it's not working better.
have anybody an idea... i'm blocked.
thanks for your help (and sorry for my very bad english)

Hello,
Tank you for your answer.
Here is my answers:
> When the sef is off what ur urls look like?
I put every SEF option of joomla to OFF and here is what I get:
dev.snick.ch/le-r%C3%AAve-d%27un-clown&Itemid=70?option=...
> are other components working all right?
Yes, i've a Joomgallery annd it's working very well, with and without the SEF option turned ON
>have u enable apache mod_rewrite?
Yes, in the .htaccess.
>both in ur server and joomla?
In the root directory with the .htaccess file. In the server, I don't know. It's a easigiga.ch server...
>are u using latest ver of sh404sef?
I'm not using sh404sef
>please disable mod_rewrite and rename htaccess and check if ur problem resolves.
Nothing is working anymore. My server need a .htaccess file with a SecFilterEngine Off.
I tried to put RewriteEngine Off but it's the same.
to my sens, the problem is in K2 and not in the htaccess file.
is it possible to reinstall k2, deleting every file with FTP and see if it's working better. What is happening with the data?
Thanks for your help.
Phil

Hello,
You answered me about me problem and I thought that JoomSEF resolved it, but.... unfortunalty... it's not working.
So, I've reinstall a new joomla configuration in a new sub domain and have only installed k2 (the tried the last version 2.2, and also the 2.1)
I've the same problem... that mean every links generated by k2 are not working.
you can test in
k2.snick.ch
i've created only one item... and nothinkg works!
I realy don't understand what is happening with this extension. can someone help me.
Thanks

Philippe,
I have found AceSEF with their K2 SEF extension to be the only option that worked for me completely.
I was also very impressed with their support and wrote a quick review - it's now my preferred Joomla SEF extension - check the review here.
I'm using it on this site with K2 artificialchristmastrees.me/ and you can see it's doing a nice job of all the URL's including the tag based menus.
Email me if you want more details on the setup. You need to install the K2 SEF extension after you install AceSEF - and this is done via AceSEF component control panel.

Philippe,
I had another thought - some hosts just do have issues with .htaccess - e.g. 1&1 and Yahoo hosting - what host are you using?

Hello,
Thanks for your answers.
I'll try this extension. if it'll resolve my problemes, it's nice, but i'm very surprised about the kind of problem. I don't understand why it seems to be working the all the people using k2 and not with me.
To answer you, i'm hosted by www.easygiga.com and the php version is 5.0.4. Can it be a problem? Must I have a higher php version ?
I've a .htaccess file but with only one line:
SecFilterEngine Off.
What do you thinkg about it?
Thank you very much for you help.

Philippe,
Your .htaccess is the issue - you need the default Joomla .htaccess
Replace what you have in your .htaccess with this:htaccess.txt
