Hello,i want to show read more button after some lines in items but it is not coming and the text is not showing complete.please response me aspa.

Are you using introtext?
If you enable introtext and set a word limit, say 20 words, then it will display the first 20 words and add the read more link.

Dear Simon,

I have enabled introtext option in items and category option, and has mentioned 40 words limit in Item view options in category listings but none of the function is working.

I can not see readmore button in items. I think this is default K2 bug. I am using k2 v2.1.

Could you please let me know the steps what we have to do to fix them.

I am not sure that it is a bug, but I strongly recommend that you use V2.2 as it does have other bug fixes included too.

Hi,

I have tried everything and it seems like this is a K2 bug. And i think i need to upgrade with the latest version, can you please let me know after upgrading the K2 i will not loose my data.

Is their any documentation available?

Upgrade to V2.2 is as per any other Joomla install.
K2 includes upgrade function.

I would of course recommend that you back up server files first, it will change files in administrator, components, modules etc, so any core mods that might have been made will be lost.

I might have even written a guide on simon.getk2.org, was a long time ago.

I have upgraded v2.1 to v2.2, but still read more button is not working.

And also i cannot see page-break option in the item but i can in the joomla article.

Please response me asap if you have any idea.

Tarun,

You have a very special install, I could not get read moe to display, but ran out of time for testing.
There is either something wrong with the Joomla template, try changing to another to test.
You might have to reinstall K2 again.
Have you changed any core files?

Hi Simon,

No, i have not changed any core files. Have you looked up to all the plugin and module, may be some of the plugin does conflict to this logic. But you know i have seen Read more problem too may times, but didn't find the exact solution.

I don't know why the joomla developer does not have confidential answer.

So you suggest to me reinstall K2 component again. Do you know since before i upgrade it into new version now you are saying install it again. My be i will be lose all the K2 data.

I have no chance to check every plugin, module for conflicts, there should be no issue, but of course, if you want to check this, then please do so.

You will only loose data if you uninstall.
As with any extension, its always best to have some backup made for safety.

I can only conclude, that what ever the issues was, when you has your previous version, it has not been updated on the last version install.

You have a unique issue, its not one that happens on every install, so to get you a fix immediately cant be expected, unless there is a known fix, which is why I am trying to help.

Hi,

the issue was the same as i am facing right now, the read more button is not working and page break option is not visible in an item. I updated this version because of you suggested to me. But still the problem is coming.

Most of the user has complaint about this issue but none of the user has exact answer to fix them.

So now what i do for that, do i take backup and install K2 again? but their is some feeling is coming to me that after install it again it will not resolved.

So what do you say? do i proceed to take backup and install again or what?

Most users are reporting this?
Can you point to other instances, I can then check each one to find a solution.

As I said, this function does work on normal new joomla installs and new k2 installs.
If there was something wrong with your install to start with, it is possible that it may not have been update with the new k2 version install.

I have the same problem. No "Read More" and no words limit.

I have installed for test a blank Joomla 1.5.20 but the same :(
I know not what I'm doing wrong?

Maybe someone can me say me step by step what I must disable and enable???
