k2, v2.3 installs, breaks my design was created by michael neese
I just installed the latest stable release, v2.2.3, by installing over the v2.2...it totally whacked my pages...what was a integrated design with integrated colorization is now white fields all over with black text...pages are not loading sidebars, module positions etc....How to get back my template design?

Did you use K2 overrides? or Did you change the K2 core files?

Do you have a back up of the site with files you can compare?
post a link to the offending pages so people can take a look

It was a new installation of a site, but with great deal of changes, but no backup yet...I tried to re-install 2.2, no good...then uninstalled k2...lost everything...items, categories, users, etc...
I have the "quickstart files" unzipped, but can't figure out where to redeem the K2 items, categories, etc that I have lost...any ideas...I do have the K2 admin interface fully working...

thanks

I have reinstalled the site from scratch using the joomlart template with K2 version 2.2...I also had the "white pages" after the upgrade to 2.3, but in addition to that, the upgrade also broke the design, causing modules to not show on some pages where they did before...the k2 blog pages spread across the entire page, not allowing any other modules to position or show...
I think in my case, the joomlart designers probably hacked the k2 installation, then when upgraded it overwrote some code or something...I am posting this info on the joomlart forum...they should have some response or possibly re-doing the template with the k2 v2.3 installed...

One of the Joomla Creators "Rules" are
1. never have anything on your site except what you put on it
2. never have anything on your site except what you put on it
Rule 3 should be
Never hack the core
Rule 4 should be
Backup before adding extensions, plugins, or upgrading
www.akeebabackup.com/ is VERY GOOD STUFF!

Noted...thanks...I am using Akeeba backup pro, but to be honest I was so eager to get the NEW K2 installed, that I just let go of regular protocol....
I see there are files now available that were posted early this morning called "overide package comparisons"... Would that be something I could use to help with this upgrade to version 2.3...I am not clear on what those files are used for...
