K2 media manager not opening was created by Robert
Hi There,

I have problems with opening my K2 media manager. The open folder progress bar shows forever.
I am on K2 version 2.6.7 and joomla 3.1.5

Thanks,
Robert

When you try to browse to this folder through Joomla! Media manager do you have access?
Did you try to re-install K2?

Same here.

This happened before, but it was solved somehow.

Now the problem returned.

I can't figure out what is causing it :/

Joomla Media Manager is working normally.

I noticed my php information page is showing nothing:

The permissions and rest seems to be fined.

Do you have any idea what might be causing the problem? Probably that's why K2 media manager isn't working as it should, I think.

What Joomla! administrator template do you use?
Try switching to the default one and check if you are getting the PHP information then.

My admin template is MissionControl template by RocketTheme.

I changed it to the default one, no luck, nothing changed. But the host might be blocking the php information. Anyway, I'm not even sure if this is the cause of the K2 problem.

With the joomla default media manager I can browser any files and folders. With the JCE I also have no problems.

But with the K2, it's not possible.
It just keeps "opening folder"...

Are your permissions correct for your files and folders?
You can use the Admin Tools extension to correct your permissions.

Finally make sure you are using K2's latest version.

Hi Krikor,

I used admin tools to "Fix Permissions", but nothing changed.

However, I noticed this "lock" icons in the folders, when I access K2 form submission in the frontend:

Are they normal? I usually use the backoffice to send the articles, and in the backoffice there are no such "lock icons".

However, the error occurs either in backoffice and in the frontend.

Edit: And I think k2 is updated:

The lock appears in the frontend of the K2 Media Manager because the permissions are limited by default. All users can use images that pre-exist in the server but they do not have any access to add/edit/delete files or folders through the frontend.
This is a measure K2 team has taken in order to secure the server's files/folders.
