User Extended Fields Plugin Problems was created by Evan Hench
Joomla! 3.2

I am having problems with my User Extended Fields Plugin:

A.) The language file is not being loaded when "editing" in the extension manager (Just says "PLS_UEF_..." etc.), which seems to be a common problem. Help would be appreciated here.

B.) When editing a K2 user, the plugin appears to have no proper CSS, even though the template.css in the package is being loaded to the page, and just appears in a sort of clump of fields at the bottom. To see if the CSS even affects the plugin, I commented it all out and it did not change at all, as well as when I added random colors and such to the CSS to see if it would even register. I have tried so many different ways of editing this, yet have not found a solution. Is there a problem in the way the files are laid out that I would have to change? Or, is there a bug in the code?

Help would be much appreciated, as this is incredibly frustrating.

Thanks guys

I would suggest reinstalling the extension.

Also open your console tab of your browser's developer tools? Are you getting any 404 errors?

Sorry for taking a long time to reply.

I am getting no 404 errors. I just reinstalled it and am still getting no 404 errors and am having the same exact problem I was having before. Is this a common problem?

Evan

The css part is not needed since you can style it like you do with your K2 profile (front-end).

For the language files.
Extract the .zip and locate the language/en-GB folder.

Copy these files and paste them into the remote folders /language/en-GB folders.

These language files are in the correct spots in the .../language/en-GB/ folders and still are not being registered. Also, I should probably specify that this is for the admin part of the site. I attached a picture of what it looks like:

I hope this helps you understand my problem. It seems that the files are not being correctly linked together. I am using the exact package of the User Extended Fields plugins, and have made sure my language files are correctly placed as well.

The first picture is at the bottom of the typical user in the admin

The second picture is in the edit portion of plugin manager

Sorry I thought you were referring to the frontend.

The first picture is normal.
The second one on the other hand is not.
It is not 'seeing' the language pack.

Could you do me a favour and paste the contents of the language file here?

Here is the en-GB.plg_k2_userextendedfields.ini file. Everything at the top of the file is just comments so you see all the important stuff

Are you sure that this is how the backend is supposed to look? If you scroll down just a little and look in the IMAGES section on this page, extensions.joomla.org/extensions/extension-specific/k2-extensions/12557 , the backend looks much better than appears in my own backend. Is there a reason for this as well?

Sorry for all the questions, but if the backend is supposed to look like that clump of fields, how could I properly style it in CSS (and where) so that it can look like it is supposed to?
