Hi all,
The Close button in the Front editor is not working well after upgrading my Joomla 3.6.5 / K2 2.7.1 to Joomla 3.8 / K2 2.8. I use PHP 7.

I've updated the itemform.php file.
Looking at the forum I've also installed the pluggin JQuery Easy. Behaviour has improved but with IE browser the browser Tab closes when the Close button is pressed.

So, on my xampp V7.0.9 I've installed a fresh Joomla 3.8 with a fresh K2 2.8, and nothing else. To my surprise the Close button closes also the tab so the behaviour is not linked to my site.

Any idea on how I can move on?

Are you getting any JS errors?
Is the form loaded in a modal?

No apparent JS erros but I did not set any debug mode.
It is loaded by default integrated in the browser. I am quite open in changing that if necessary.

The close button will close the current instance.
Since it is not being loaded in a modal the current window will close.
It is better to use the K2 User module or load the menu item in a new window.

Sorry, not sure I understand.

This is the case:
. We are in the frontend, showing a Home menu output that blogs items
. A user is logged in and has publisher rights.
. the Edit button of a K2 item shows up.
. User clicks the Edit button and, in the same browser window, the K2 item open to be edited, with Save and Close buttons.

What are your suggestions?

The editor should load inside a modal.
Can you try using the default template to see if the issue persists?

Hi,
I have the same problem. clicking on "Close" button will also close the current tab (browser). This only happens in Internet Explorer (11).
I tried Protostar template and Beez3. Same result.
Has anyone found a solution?

Actually this is a core file, the issue is probably from some other file (hopefully), is there an error stack?
