403 forbidden when trying to change k2 settings

I have not needed to change any K2 settings for many years, but I recently tried to save a change and I got this:
'403 forbidden
Access to this resource on the server is denied!'
I get the same response when I try to many any change to any K2 setting.
I'm using J 3.9.14 and the latest K2.
Any idea what a solution might be?
Thanks, Nick

Permissions is for superuser, so this is probably not the cause.
Any suggestions as to where to look to resolve the issue?

For example, will I lose settings/data if I re-install K2?

You will ONLY lose your data if you un-install it first. So be careful there.

Nick
I have exactly the same problem.
I've tried everything: I've changed php versions, installed K2 2.9, 2.10, 2.12, dev ..
How did you fix this error?
Thanks!

I am now updating my template and am getting the 403 error when trying to make changes to K2 settings (latest K2 version; J! 3.9.18)
Was this error ever resolved by the others? Any idea what may have caused it?
A bit annoying when the website works, but can't change anything.
Hope someone can help.
Thanks, Nick

I appreciate it is difficult trying to identify what the cause might be on different systems and setup.
I have checked the permissions and they are OK; the ACL is set to superuser with complete access; and I can access all articles and add/delete/edit without issues (so database is fine).
It's only when I go to K2->settings and then press Save, that I get the 403 message (even if I press nothing else other than Save). Very curious.
You mentioned in an earlier post that there may be a conflict with another extension - are there any obvious ones that you know of that could be causing this? Or perhaps something else I can look into?
Efcaristo.

I even reinstalled K2 and no effect.
Looks like I'm going to have to move my 1000+ articles out of K2 and into Joomla.
Thanks

Do your K2 settings and content display fine on this new site?

Only thing I could not do was recreate the media links (no images with articles) but for this exercise, all good.
So this means...? extension conflict?

As for the settings, it's most probably some other extension causing that issue or perhaps your Joomla installation is broken. The latter is easy to fix, simply use the Joomla Update component and choose to re-install Joomla.
