sigpro 2.0.4 cache 777 issue was created by Marc Solaris
Hi

I have sigpro 2.0.4 installed and I would like to know if its possible to use this plugin without having to change permissions of my cache folder to 777.
I tried 755 and 644 and other combinations without success.

I use show 1 thumbnail option to show my galleries. I really am affraid to set the cache folder contents to 777 as I already have been hacked twice! I hope there is a way of turning cache off or another solution without compromising my websites security.

I can not see a post where this issue has been fixed.

As far as I remember the older versions of sigpro did not need the cache folder to be set to 777.

Help please ?
Marc

With 755 you shouldn't have a problem. Could you re-change the permissions to 755, clean joomla cache and post a link to your site?

I can PM the url to you if you want.

I did what you said...
I cleaned the cache folder in the root of joomla where the cached sigpro files were.
I changed the cache directory to 755.
I then visited the gallery but the thumbs were not visible.
I then changed the permissions of the cache folder to 777 and visited the site again, this time the sigpro files started to show up in the site and in the cache folder. After visiting every image all the images were cached. I then changed the cache folder back to 755.

It seems that the images still are on the site, I will test it again later to see if they remain visible. So it looks like I have to change the permissions of the cache folder to 777 every time I add new images, and once done change the permissions back to 755.

Kind regards, Marc

I am having the same problem and the same considerations about my site's security. Does Joomlaworks have a solution/workaround for this?

Looking formward to any progress in this matter.

I suggest you to install Admin Tools from Akeeba Backup in order to fix your permissions as they should be.

Thank you for your reply.
I have installed Admintools component from Akeeba. It causes my back end to freeze.

File Attachment:

(By the way, I have similar experiences with Akeeba backup. I was happy to uninstall it asap)

If I should manage to access Akeeba, then what do I do?

I'm so sorry but i just could not make Akeeba Admin to work. It adds to my problem since I ended up losing myself on the Akeeba Form for additional support.
Looking forward to new suggestions.

Which version do you use? Upgrade to the latest one 2.5.3 asap. If the problem still exists provide us with a link to your site.
