I'm having a problem where the video play back works on Desktop Browsers but it's failing to link to the video on my iOS devices.  When the playback button is pressed on my iOS devices instead of the video playing I get the following error for remote video files:
The video could not be loaded, either because the server or network failed or because the format is not supported: http://www.samharney.com/images/videos/SAM Logo Touch 2 720x480.mp4undefinedundefinedundefinedundefined
When the playback button is pressed on my iOS devices instead of the video playing I get the following error for local video files:
The video could not be loaded, either because the server or network failed or because the format is not supported: images/videos/SAM Logo Touch 2 720x480.mp4undefinedundefinedundefinedundefined

I'm running Joomla 2.5.7 and the latest version of AllVideos, you can see this on my site www.samharney.com/blog , just remember that it works on desktops but not on my iOS device (not sure about Android.).

NOTE: I did see where other people have reported this problem, but can't find anyone that actually reported this being resolved.

Found another thread discussing the issue of "undefinedundefined...." error message.
So in hopes that Katia will be looking at this post I wanted to clarify.
  • This is a mp4 file
  • It is in H.264 format
Looking at the video on my desktop using Chrome, where the video does play, I found the following code which may shed some light on the issue...
<div id="avID_AVPlayerID_77740a64_1072099021_video_wrapper" style="overflow: hidden; position: absolute; top: 0px; left: 0px; bottom: 0px; right: 0px; "><video x-webkit-airplay="allow" id="avID_AVPlayerID_77740a64_1072099021_video" src="undefined" style="position: absolute; width: 149px; height: 110px; top: 0px; left: 36px; display: none; "></video></div>

"undefined" is part of the code here and it is set for the "src" setting, which I believe that means that this should be technically pointing to the actual video here...

I converted the Logo Ink Drop video using HandBrake to an iPad compatible MP4, I also tried the iPhone compatible, and optimized both for web... The end result was the same error message as before; only it happened to my desktop and mobile where with the original file it only happened on mobile devices.

Is it just me, or does the reports of problems with video play back appeared to have increased when AllVideos was converted over to this new JWPlayer?  This "undefinedundefinedundefinedundefined..." error needs to be addressed, and not just on an individual basis... somewhere some official information should be posted by the joomlaworks team... Things to try, and some kind of plan for how they intend to resolve this on a more permanent basis, and not keep trying to work around it.

"NOTE: I posted this information to my other thread yesterday by mistake."

The MP4 video demo on JoomlaWorks server worked on my iOS device.
I have also since tried using a MKV version of my video and found that it worked on my iOS device.

Any thoughts on why my MP4 video creates this error message on my iOS devices, and some desktop Chrome browsers? (I say some because it works on my desktop's with the chrome browser, but my template provider is having problems playing these videos on their desktop using Chrome.

So your issue is not related to the plugin but to your mp4 video...
Please recheck that is H.264 Video.

I have the undefinedundefined....  problem, at random. Sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. Appears to never work on IE9, most of the time on Chrome, sparely on iOS.
VLC "Codec info" confirms it is a h.264 video
Visible here:

Thanks for your help

Julien,

I kind of had to give up... JoomlaWorks could not suport the undefinedundefined error, other than to say that it was a problem with my video file. I finally rendered the video to a different file/codec (still h.264) and it worked,  and since them I've decided to upload my videos to a 3rd party, and then use the plugin to insert it back into my site.

fyi for future searches of others having same problems:
I too am having the same problem. It is mentioned here that it is a problem with the video. On another post of the same topic Moderator says to check this:
demo.joomlaworks.net/allvideos
The mp4 on that demo site works on my iphone.
To troubleshoot, I download the mp4 file from that page and put it on my site.
It still does not work, so clearly this is not a problem with the video codec.
