I'm running AllVideos 4.5.0 and Joomla 2.5.11, trying to embed a self-hosted MOV file in an article with the syntax as described in the documentation.

When navigating to the page in Chrome (27.0.1453.110) a download/save as dialogue pops up, rather than a video player being displayed. Firefox asks for the QuickTime plugin to be installed, as does IE.

Video is self-hosted and plugin syntax being used is {mov}folder/file{/mov} as per documentation.

Any advice please?

Edit: To add, I use the plugin extensively to embed YouTube/Vimeo vodeos with no problems at all.

By default .mov files require Quicktime player in order to show. Maybe you should consider converting your video to another format.

What would you suggest? FLV?

Is it normal for Chrome to open a Save dialogue, rather than ask for a plugin to be installed?

flv would be a safe choice.

Chrome has a known issue with handling .mov files.

Cool, thanks. I converted to FLV and it works perfectly now.  ;D I even found the answer on how to make a video preview picture in the player.
