Firefox 24 and mp4 was created by schweizer.r
I'm using AllVideos plugin (4.5.0) on my Joomla (2.5.3) website.

It's working great, except that I noticed that with Firefox 24, the player doesn't display mp4 videos.
It's working perfectly with Chrome or older version of Firefox (13), but with the version 24 of Firefox, I get the following error:

"The video could not be loaded, either because the server or network failed or because the format is not supported: http [...] video.mp4undefinedundefined".

Any idea how I could fix this?

Thanks a lot.

Have you tried encode your videos in H.264 format?

Could you please provide a link to your video's page to check it out?

Thank you.

Hi,
I have the same problem. Mp4 files play in Mac OSx all browsers, but not on PC - Firefox.
See here: www.terziev.info/en/works-grid/item/128-self-tracking-shot
under the tab [video]
The error displayed is " The video could not be loaded... the url ending with mp4undefinedundefinedundefined..."
Tested in Firefox 24.0 Windows 7, Joomla 2.5.14, All videos 4.5.0

In terms of templating, what I have tried doing was to use the classic theme of all videos (because the responsive theme is broken, it was confirmed by Fotis in another thread, and is still unusable), but make it partially responsive at least - setting global 100% width for the videos in the plugin settings, and then setting custom height for each video.

Please advise how to handle this!
Thanks,
K

same problem over here (as posted in other section as well)

mp4 videos just won't play on firefox no matter what..i even reduced resolution etc but still no luck..
as i posted in the other thread as well, that "solution" www.itoctopus.com/how-to-resolve-the-most-annoying-jw-player-error-in-joomla didn't help me either..

@nikolasr200

Make sure that your mp4 video files are encoded in h.264 format.

@terk
This might help you since you are in Windows 7.

You can disable built-in support of MP4 files by typing about:config into the address bar and pressing Enter, then double-clicking the media.windows-media-foundation.enabled preference to change its status to false.

Thanks a lot Yota,
now videos are displayed correctly. I will try then the fixes of JW player discussed on their forum in the hope to make the videos work in any case before they fix their broken brauser.
Best,
K

Firefox needs third party extensions to support the mp4 format. A reference is available here:  developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/HTML/Supported_media_formats?redirectlocale=en-US&redirectslug=Media_formats_supported_by_the_audio_and_video_elements#MP4_H.264_%28AAC_or_MP3%29.
I would recommend you used a different video format that is compatible with all browsers in order to avoid this kind of issues.
