Uploaded an mp4 video and it's not working was created by m.aleo

Hi there,

I would like to upload an mp4 video to an article. I typed following code into an article:

{mp4}aerobics 1{/mp4}

and I placed the video "aerobics 1.mp4" into the images/stories/videos that i made. When I view the article on the frontend, I see the video box but when I press play, the following message comes up:

"The video could not be loaded, either because the server or network failed or because the format is not supported. undefined undefined undefined"

Any ideas for why this is?

Hi. Make sure that "Local Video Folder" under the plugin settings is set to "images/stories/videos" since you put your video there.

Thank you for the suggestion. I only had images/videos instead of images/stories/videos in the local video folder. However, it is still not working?!

Make sure that the file images/stories/videos/aerobics.mp4 exists in your server. Also ensure that the AllVideos plugin is enabled. Finally check your browser console for any errors. A link to your site indicating the problem would be very helpful.

Thanks Lefteris. I do have the file on my server and the AllVideos plugin is enabled.I don't kkow how to check my browser console for errors?! The link to my site is this: hbfn.atwebpages.com and the page that I tried to put a video on is "Workouts." Thanks again for your help!

The player is looking for file hbfn.atwebpages.com/images/stories/videos/aerobics 1.mp4. Try to rename the video properly avoiding spaces or any other special characters.

Have you tried what is mentioned here? Does the file exists in your server? Is the path correct? Also try to avoid capital letters, spaces and special characters in the file name.

I have tried everything mentioned previously in the post, and now I even tried changing the file name from MAH00104.MP4 to mah00104.mp4 and it still gives the same error in firefox, I then tried it with chrome and it wouldn't play either. The videos are definitely on the server as I can see them in ftp and the cpanel file manager the url is sitename/images/video_downloads/nameofvid

Is there any way for you to let me give you registered user details to the site and the url so that you can see for yourself? I would prefer to be able to message these details to you privately.

i am having the same problem too!

i had a mov video and no problem, but we couldnt see it with android, so we were trying to switch to mp4 but is not working.
also tried using the youtube link and not working either. the path, the name is on lowercase without spaces,

ayuda/help!

Since your video is located at sitename/images/video_downloads the folder in AllVideos settings must be set to images/video_downloads and the tag should be {mp4}mah00104{/mp4}

Check again the folder in the AllVideos settings. Also ensure that the video is in the correct folder.

It is already like that. I have downloaded the video off the server and checked that it plays, and it does.

AWESOME!!!! Thank you Stefanos it now plays ... one more question ... is there a way to make it play a few more seconds of the entire video? It is currently playing about 3 seconds long, I am not sure if this is because of the buffering speed I set? But after that it just stops and the play button shows again. Thank you again!!!

Ensure you have the latest version of AllVideos. Also try to remove the trailing slash from the path at the plugin options.

@Beryl

Probably this is a buffering issue. A link to your site would be very helpful.

No, there is no way to send me personal messages. Is the issue the same every time? I mean that you can also easily tell if it's a buffering issue or not. If the video always stop at the same point then maybe the video file is corrupted.
