Site / page : flyingfoxdesigns.com.au/15-test-all-vids-plugin-page
Joomla 3.2
Rockettheme Anacron template
Allvideos plugin installed and published

embedded code
{mp4}1minutecontent3{/mp4}

The Classic and Framed video templates both work fine in multiple browsers at various sizes, so I know I have the path to the video correct in the inserted code

But when the allvideo plugin is set to the 'responsive' template (my main objective here), I get the weird image and it wont play at all. Although it certainly seems like a most responsive broken display :)

I do have the free JW player Module installed in the site but its not responsive. Is it possible that is interfering somehow?

I also have the nonumber module injector plugin loaded but that didn't interfere with the classic / framed versions so not sure why it would hurt the responsive one.

The video is mp4 made with snagit11

Any help most appreciated

Thanks
Kim

Hi. Which browser are you using? I resized the window and it scaled without issues.

I tested on Firefox 28, Chrome 33 and IE11 on Windows 7, Safari on an ipad and chrome on Android smartphone. Its the same on all devices.

The issue is not responsiveness directly - it is that the video does not load correctly with the responsive template selected in the plugin parameters, but it does load and play fine with the classic or framed templates turned on.

Instead, using the allvideos responsive template, I get some kind of weird test image see imgur.com/4EGRzYb with no play button at all. But that weird image is indeed perfectly responsive.

But the video (a screen recording of how to publish a Joomla article in 1 minute) does not load or play for me at all.

Does it for you?

The test i made was from a desktop computer. When i tried a tablet o got the same result as you. However the video played for me. The issue occurs with devices that don't support flash and player falls back to HTML 5 implementation. We will look into it. Probably the issue is caused by the player script AllVideos is using.

Thanks Lefteris

What desktop setup did you test on? Win 7 with latest FF / Chrome / IE11 is surely the most common by far?

Some more info:

I have just updated / installed the latest flash player via Firefox and the video is still not working for me (in exactly the same way) in FF.

Also the other templates (classic / framed) did play the video fine, suggesting its not necessarily a flash issue. So I guess its still worth looking at other causes like issues with the players responsive template?

I tested whether the player worked in a default Joomla site template and it did not.

Any other things you think I should check?

Cheers
Kim

Should I do anything else like test the video playing in a default joomla template

I explained you exactly where the issue is. I tested under a Mac computer. It played fine for me as i already told you. When i disabled Flash plugin i got the same result as you. So this seems to occur when Flash is not used and only when responsive template is used. As i wrote before we will look into it. We will let you know when we have any news on this.
