Allvideos mp3 player no longer works on my website when playing files hosted on external sites. It works fine on internally hosted files. An example of a page with two players where the first one works and the second one doesn’t is at:

jesusinside.org.uk/multimedia/1870-amazing-alan-canon

{mp3}amazingallan-cannon{/mp3} this works fine

{mp3}gbcweb.tv/images/audio/amazingallan-cannon.mp3{/mp3} this doesn’t work, however you can type gbcweb.tv/images/audio/amazingallan-cannon.mp3 into a web browser and it plays fine there.

I am using Joomla 3.3.1 and Allvideos 4.6.1

Can anyone help me please?

Hi. Read the documentation at www.joomlaworks.net/support/docs/allvideos . The remote videos require a different tag than the local videos.

This latest version now seems to support mp3 file playback on non-flash devices such as iPhone etc. Is this correct please?

Yes. AllVideos is using JWPlayer. This player will fallback to an HTML5 video player for devices where flash is not available.

Thanks, I am aware of this working fine for HTML5 VIDEO but does the same apply for mp3 AUDIO as well?

I have configured it on our website and when using my iPhone 5S you can see the audio player, whereas in previous versions of Allvideo audio player you just got a warning message saying Flash was not installed, or something similar.

When you press the play button you see what looks like a very basic iOS native audio player filling the screen. So that's quite good enough. :-)

I hope it works on all other mobile devices and their operating systems.
