Hi all,

after a little help here please. I use this extension on Joomla 3.+ installs on public websites with great success but I am having a terrible time on a work project I have undertaken.

We are creating an online training portal for staff and the training videos, text and other features are being hosted on our MS Server 2008 R2 machine. The access is strictly by VPN to avoid competitors getting a look in.

On my public server the plugin is flawless. The video source location is set and the tags work fine with basically just the filename in them. On the MS server site though, I get an error "Error loading media: File could not be played"

I created a copy of the work secure site on my own webserver and setup the same folder structure etc for media and it works fine. Perfect in fact, however the same logic is failing me on the work server.

An example of the page content is
{mp4}demo_video{/mp4} and the Video is located in the folder images/videos/demo_video.mp4
The default video location in the plugin is set as images/videos

Can someone please help me to work through some troubleshooting to see what is blocking me from launching this very important training site?

This is an IIS feature.
IIS by default does not stream mp4's.

Krikor, thanks for the suggestion. We are using IIS v8.5 and it seems that this is now set to 'on' by default. The settings were already done as per your link.

Any other ideas?

I 'm sorry but I have no experience on IIS servers.
