I'm looking to setup a simple gallery for multiple video clip I have. They are all about 2 min each. I would like the user to just click on the video from a list/thumbnail and it starts playing the the main player. I will need to categorize the video clips as well.
I will pay for someone to help with this configuration. I am also looking for help with Joomla support.
I look forward to any help you can offer.
Thanks
Gary

1) Where are these tables located
2) all i have currently is the donwloaded plugin for the Allvideos 2.5 for my Joomla 1.5 and i have enabled it (there are no options in there to set the file path or media type)
3) Is there a module that goes along with this as i am not seeing any module listed for videos in my modules section from where i can set where the video player shows up on my site
4) Currently all i have is the plugin downloaded and installed and enabled in the plugin option-what should be the next step (the documentation just talks about tables without mentioning where those tables are and how to make the video player show up on Joomla and how to reposition to our choise location on the page).
Thanks- I am sure others like me have similar questions so appreciate your help

Dont need

Yes there. Go in propetiers of plugin "edit".
In ftp see or creat your path storage in your site...like "images/stories/videos/" or "images/stories/audio/"
Put your video or song in respective directory video in video - audio in audio :P
This case for localhost files of course...use tag for respective services live youtube etc
3) Is there a module that goes along with this as i am not seeing any module listed for videos in my modules section from where i can set where the video player shows up on my site
I think to be honest you need before at all learn a litle principles of the joomla administration. Modules, plugins, components etc... you find this in oficial joomla site.
4) Currently all i have is the plugin downloaded and installed and enabled in the plugin option-what should be the next step (the documentation just talks about tables without mentioning where those tables are and how to make the video player show up on Joomla and how to reposition to our choise location on the page).
The same thing of your question number 3
Sorry for my terrible english... i hope help you anyway

In that case, you simply create a new article and put the AllVideos tag along with some text on the "intro" text field, then hit save. You then install UCD, add inside UCD's parameters the ID (not the name) of the category in which you published your article, you publish the UCD module in some position and you're good to go. ;)

You can use our UCD module to retrieve your content items/articles inside modules. See what we do for example on www.cinemad.gr (right column, video). I guess this is what you wanna do, right?

I installed All Video plugin successfully.
I then tried to follow the above instructions, but after clicking on the category listing that I had assigned to contain the UCD module, I get this error:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: getdate() in /home/******/public_html/modules/mod_jw_ucd/mod_jw_ucd.php on line 21
Any suggestions?
Thanks

1- download zip file
2- install extension
3- edit plug-in
4- set folders
5- upload flv file to folder
6- create new article
7- PUT EXACTLY WHAT INTO THE ARTICLE???????????????????
So frustrating. Hours wasted.

All the info you need to add your videos in an article are indicated on the table located here
> www.joomlaworks.net/content/view/35/41/
I sooo understand what you are all going through...I created a joomla site within the past 4 months and went crazy, so I will share how I got allvideos to work on my site, I hope this helps you all out!!!!
I have my videos hosted on a seperate server instead of my website so I look in the tables that is located in the documentation to find the exact syntax I am supposed to use...So it says for a remote server to use this syntax
{flvremote}www.filehosting.com/nadasurf.flv{/flvremote}
the area hignlighted in bold above is where I am to include the link to the file on my remote server so once that video file is added, this is what it should look like when using a remote server!!
{flvremote}videos.s3.amazonaws.com/something.flv{/flvremote}
The next step is to make sure I have installed allvideos by downloading the zip file
then install the extension
then go to plugins.... open allvideos-- Enable the plugin by selecting yes, and setup all the video variables that are located in the left of the allvideos plugin...such as where the folder is to the videos you have stored on your server and the different players option you want. Then click save!!
Now that I have the plugin configured!!!
Its time to create an artice...
Go to articles and create new...
the article box opens, I then type in the basic info about my video such as:
This video will show you how to create, blah, blah, blah...
I then open the html editor by clicking on the html icon
This is where you add the syntax to your video
So since my video is hosted on a remote server I am adding the syntax I created above...
{flvremote}www.filehosting.com/nadasurf.flv{/flvremote}
Thats all you add in the htmal editor, click on update and your finished!!
Then make sure to save the article!
Your finished!!!
Now if you are hosting your own video files on your site, then you would use a syntax
like this----> {flv}nadasurf{/flv}This info comes from the tag table in the documentation...
This indicates where your videos are stored--->stories/videos (You need to fill in this info in the plugin data so that allvdideos can find your video on your website server)
This indicates the path to find your video file---->images/stories/videos/nadasurf.flv Finally as I said above this is the tag (syntax as I call them)that you put in the html editor area of your article---->{flv}nadasurf{/flv}
To use youtube or google videos etc.... you would follow the same steps I outlined above but you would put the correct syntax (tag) that is indicated in the documentation tag table located here--->www.joomlaworks.net/content/view/35/41/
For a you tube video you need to go to the page where your video is located on youtube and get the link located in the address bar of your browser, for example
www.youtube.com/watch?v=DV81bAghxBU
Now you wont need the entire address only the Video ID which I highlighted above in bold for you.
Now take that Video Id and put it into the syntax tag like this---->{youtube}DV81bAghxBU{/youtube}, and this is what you will put into the html editor of your article so that you can play youtube videos.
hopefully this will help all the new people who are stressing out trying to figure out how to make allvideos work for you and wasting your valuable time!!!
