File could not be played was created by Neighbor Hub
I just recently went live with a site that utilized AllVideos on the hompage. The site is Joomla based and is using AllVideos 4.7.0. It is an mp4 file that is locally hosted. When I was developing the site (on the same server), the video would play without a problem. Ever since I made the site live though, each time I try to play the video I get "Error loading media: File could not be played".

The site is bloomfieldchurch.org, and I'm hoping you can help me figure out what the problem is. I've gone through the forums looking for a similar problem, and trying all of the fixes that were mentioned, but none so far have been successful.

Hi,

This usually means you are trying to load a file in a nonsupported format in JW Player ( the player that AllVideos is using). MP4 files should use the H264 video codec in order to be played.

I might agree with that if it didn't function properly before making the site live.

The files and site didn't move, we just pointed the domain to the proper location.

Agree or not, this is what the message means according to the official JWPlayer documentation support.jwplayer.com/customer/portal/articles/1403682-common-error-messages .

A link to the page with the issue would be very helpful in order to see if the setup is correct.

The link was included in the initial post. BloomfieldChurch.com

I understand what the documentation says, but the file hasn't been modified since it worked during the build phase.

I'd appreciate any help you can provide as my client is getting a bit antsy about the video not functioning.

The player is looking for the video at http://images/videos/bloomfield-intro.mp4 which of course is not correct.

This means that either the configuration of the plugin or the tag you are using is wrong.

Ok, I think I may have discovered the issue.

The Local Video Folder was initially set to /images/videos.

Once I removed the initial / (changing it to images/videos) the video appears to be functional.

If that isn't the cause, I'll be back to keep everyone updated :)
