Hello,
I have placed a local mp4 video in my Joomla based website. The player opens and in Chrome y can hear the sound but don't see the video.
In Firefox I get an error message: "Error loading media: File could not be played."
What could be the reason? Help appreciated.

Hi, thanks for your reply. I have solved the problem converting the file to .m4v with "handbrake" which as a side effect reduced the file to 50% of is original size.
It works now perfectly.

I have the same problem. The video plays smoothly in Opera, only sound in Chrome and error message (as described by Klaus) in Firefox and IE.
I tried Klaus's solution (converted the mp4 file to mkv) but no luck.

The format should me mp4 with h264 encoding.
