MP4 videos will not play in IE11 was created by Paul Delbar
We have a large number of videos (MP4, H264 codec as prescribed) which play fine in all browsers except in IE11. Some investigation shows that activating ActiveX filtering resolves the issue.
The impact of switching on ActiveX is that it results in the Shockwave plugin not being loaded, but a HTML5 video element is rendered instead. The browser does indicate some content was filtered (blue icon in the URL bar) but goes on and 'falls back' to HTML5 video. A similar observation can be made when disabling the Shockwave plugin altogether. So I conclude that there is an incompatibility between the Shockwave plugin and the MP4 video.
Has anyone else seen similar issues? Any ideas on how to
a) resolve this at the video level (if this is video-data-related)
b) resolve this at the level of the jwplayer
c) force HTML5 on IE11 instead of allowing the Shockwave player to come into play?

The new AllVideos uses Clappr as the default media player and falls back to JW Player for Flash and older such formats.
IE11 is supported as you can see here for MP4 files: github.com/clappr/clappr/blob/master/doc/SUPPORTED_FORMATS.md
Have you tried our demo site on IE11?

Hi Fotis, long time no see ...
The demo site does not display the videos at demo.joomlaworks.net/allvideos under the headings 'Video in MP4 format, compatible for playback on any desktop, tablet and smartphone browser, using preview image' and below -- see image attachment in imgur: imgur.com/a/wwRBR
It's effectively rendering Clappr, which is not rendering. Same problem as I have with my MP4 (hosted on the site itself). When Allvidoes renders the <video> element in IE11, it's OK.
