I am using AllVideos 3.1 and, as in previous versions of Allvideos, my 16:9 wmv videos are squashed to a 4:3 when viewed in AllVideos - with black borders on the left and right. It seems that AllVideos does not recognise the aspect ratio tag that is embedded in wmv files - Windows Media Player, Nero 9 Showtime and blip.tv's web media player do.

Here are the specs of the wmv videos, which are produced in Adobe Media Convertor CS4 for PC.......

640 x 360, PAL DV, 25 FPS, 1.4587 pixel aspect ratio.

A work-around - if I change the pixel aspect ratio to "square" the video displays properly in 16 by 9 - but I suspect having square pixels in a 16 x 9 aspect ration video is WRONG (out of specification).

Can anyone tell me if my work-around is 100% satisfactory please, or if there is a better solition?
