By category/ product grid do you mean something like this - demo.nuevvo.com/#toreda/index.php?option=com_k2&view=itemlist&layout=category&task=category&id=88&Itemid=202 ?
If yes, the you can use the component in the frontpage.
Simply set that menu item as the default or use that category's settings (through inheritance) on the one you are using for your frontpage.

Yes almost like that, but with a "front"picture/link to each category ex one for trousers, one for jackets, one for accesories etc. So that when i click on the accesories picture, you will get to the product grit, where you see pictures of all the different accesories with price and so on

Ok got It.
At this point I am assuming you are already showing the component view at the frontpage.
What you need to do is head on to the category settings (only in K2, com_content cannot do this) and enable the subcategory columns under category view options.
The tricky part is that you need to show the parent category in order to show the subcategories (eg. the products should belong to a master category).
Another workaround would be using the latest items from categories layout:
demo.nuevvo.com/#toreda/index.php?option=com_k2&view=latest&layout=latest&Itemid=126

What do you mean by component view? I dont have anything shown yet, because i want the grid:)
As i wrote to begin with, I can make it work when i press "shop" on my mainmenu, then all my categoris are shown. But you cant choose "home" as a parent category.

You need to change the default menu item to a K2 category one.
You can also try the exact oposite.
Locate the menu item for this link demo.nuevvo.com/commercial/j25/toreda/index.php?option=com_k2&view=itemlist&layout=category&task=category&id=87&Itemid=198
and set as the default menu item (homepage).
Finally don't forget to change the menu title and publish the appropriate modules.

My default menu item was a K2 categorie. I am using the quickstart package.
When I try your other suggestion, and rename the "shop" menu item to home, the breadscrumps is places under the titel, like on top of eachother?

I am not sure I follow you.
Personally I do not think you need breadcrumbs in your homepage, you can unpublish that module.
Finally a link will help me understand the issue.

Ok, as I suspected.
You need to do two things.
a) Unpublish the breadcrumbs from the homepage
b) add this snippet in your custom.css file
The first thing is optional but the latter is needed.
