Have tried every which way to figure this out but no luck.

The readmore link does not change with the language packs. I tried an override and look tried the code and language .ini files but nothing changes.

basically for the german version of the site I want to change read more to weiterlasen.

If you could tell me how that would be great.

Did you upload K2's language pack as well?

If you did and read more is still missing you can do a language override. You need to override K2_READ_MORE .
