Love this plugin, but wanted to know if anyone has been able to import their old JomComment comments into this system. There's an Import tool selection on Disqus, but I haven't been able to find any info at all (no response from Disqus support). Does anyone know what steps are involved to convert old JomComment comments' to Disqus? I love this commenting plugin and this is the only thing stopping me from releasing it site wide. Any help, suggestions, comments or pointers to other sites with helpful information would be very much appreciated. ??? John SFFMedia.com

It's not possible.  Disqus does not have this feature.

it's possible of course as Disqus offers an API for this! Thats why there's an extension for wordpress for a long time already. But in the Joomla world nobody has been able yet to transform this extension to joomla. I'm really really wondering about this fact as it's worth a lot (payed extension ... I'd pay for this.)

I'm about to cancel my plan to use Disqus as migration comments is essential before everything else...

And I'm proud to say I finally made it work. I managed to create a script which exports all JomComments into an XML file which is suitable for uploading to Disqus.
Exported over 17,000 comments in a file 14,3 mb weighted and only 400 failures.

I'm working to make it less dirty and then share it with the Joomla! Community as it seems to be a long time requested script/feature.

I would like to know more about how to do this as well. Anyone?
