Noticed a new version was just released, but not responsive.

Can you indicate when the responsive issue will be resolved?

Client has asked me to do this myself, so I will share the resultant override if successful, here.

Or if you already have an Alpha, happy to trial in a production site for you? www.toowoombarc.qld.gov.au

Kind regards,

Looking for responsive design template too. Surprised that nothing has been released yet for this. Thinking about having to get one of the other new slideshow components that do provide that functionality. Any updates on when one will be released?

I'm disappointed the new release did not come with responsive design built in  :(  Any update on when it will be supported?  I may have to switch to another slideshow until it is supported...

I just renewed for the 2nd or third time thinking that a responsive design would be in the latest version for certain. I guess I should have read this first.

I did it !
For my use, it's working pretty well. But each of you have certainly specific needs and settings...
So to help a bit more, here are the slideshow module settings :

Module class suffix : -
Feature slide : show
Template : Movies
Slideshow viewport width : 860
Slideshow viewport height : 400
Sidebar width : 240
jQuery library handling : Do not load the jQuery library
Transition effect : crossfade
Delay time : 6000
Transition time : 1000
Autostart slideshow : yes
Texteffect : Enable
Text transition... : 300
Timer progress bar : no

Thumbnail viewport width : 65
Thumbnail viewport height : 40
Website visitors can switch slides manually on... mouse click
Navigation lavalamp effect : Disabled
Hide navigation bar completely? No

Title : show
Text : show
Tagline : hide
Author : hide
Read more link : show
Read more target : same window
Category : hide
Fetch data from 3rd party... : no
Slide order : use component ordering
Slide limit : -
Word limit for slide text : 20
Disable slide links : no

Next step - the CSS - it's all about text, spaces and some background changes (part of it) :

.fpss-template-movies .slidetext {padding:30px 15px 15px 15px!important; height:355px!important}
.fpss-template-movies .slidetext h1, .fpss-template-movies .slidetext h1 a:hover {color:#009ddc!important}
.fpss-template-movies .slidetext h1, .fpss-template-movies .slidetext h1 a {font-size:40px!important}
#fpssContainer113.fpss-template-movies .slides-wrapper {background:none!important}
.fpss-template-movies .slidetext {background:none!important; background-color: rgba(0,0,0,0.80)!important}
#fpssContainer113.fpss-template-movies .navigation-wrapper {background:none!important; background-color: rgba(0,0,0,0.70)!important}

And finally, the responsive CSS :

@media (max-width: 979px) {
.fpss-template-movies {width:100%!important; height:auto!important}
.slides-wrapper {width:100%!important}
.fpss-template-movies .navigation-wrapper {float:none!important; height:auto!important; width:100%!important}
.navigation-wrapper .navigation li {float:left!important}
.fpss-template-movies .slidetext {padding: 20px 10px 10px 10px!important; height:auto!important; left:10px!important}
.fpss-template-movies .slidetext p {margin-bottom:40px!important}
}

@media (max-width: 767px) {
.fpss-template-movies .slidetext h1, .fpss-template-movies .slidetext h1 a {font-size: 25px!important}
.fpss-template-movies .slide, .fpss-template-movies .slide img {height:300px!important; width:641px!important}
.slides-wrapper {height:300px!important}
}

@media (max-width: 480px) {
.fpss-template-movies .slidetext {width:60%!important}
.fpss-template-movies .slide, .fpss-template-movies .slide img {height:225px!important; width:480px!important}
.slides-wrapper {height:225px!important}
.navigation-wrapper .navigation li {float:none!important; width:100%!important}
.fpss-template-movies .slidetext h1 {padding:0!important}
}

@media (max-width: 380px) {
.fpss-template-movies .slidetext {left:0!important; width:80%!important}
.fpss-template-movies .slide {overflow:visible!important}
.fpss-template-movies .slide, .fpss-template-movies .slide img {height:159px!important; width:340px!important}
}

@media (max-width: 320px) {
.fpss-template-movies .slidetext {left:0!important; width:80%!important}
.fpss-template-movies .slide {height:145px!important; width:310px!important}
.fpss-template-movies .slide img {display:none!important}
}

Hope it helps...

I'm a little bit upset here.... such a long time and such an important topic: i mean, responsive design is all around... and one of the best known slider modules for Joomla isn't be responsive..?

Would be a good idea, if one of the mods/admins respond.....

Guys,

Quit beating a dead horse.  It's been well over a year since they said they would release a FPS responsive designed component.  It hasn't happened.  That tells you two things.  They have bigger fish to fry and don't really care about updating the FPS component and they don't really know how to do it.  If they did, they would have updated it already.  At least, that is my opinion from their inaction.

This is really dissappointing. I'm converting a few sites to responsive design, and I would love to continue using FPSS. However, thanks to how the images are brought into the slides, I'm having a ton of trouble getting those to adjust properly. Now I'm going to have to try and find a different slideshow that has all of the same features. I most likely will not renew after this, not having a responsive version available is bad business.

I was also unable to find this in the JED - has it been removed?
