I am a new user and have just installed v3.0.2.  I am having trouble getting started.

Everything installed fine.  I worked through the documentation and created a first slideshow, but my slides did not look good, so thought I just run the demos and modify them.

I created a new module, but the demo did not work well, so thought I should drop back to the simplest thing I could do.  I created a new menu item pointing to the demo slide category.

The new page appears.  The demo slides appear in the normal article position, but just overwrite everything at the bottom of the screen.  I was expecting to see the text drop down as on the demo., but the text just appears below the slides.  There is no side box showing which slide is running.  Most strangely, another article page appears randomly below the slides.  This page only seems to appear when the 'unlimited slideshows' slide appears.  This is the only slide that has 'article' as its source.

I could not see any parameters to control these changes.  To get started I just ran everything as installed.

Any ideas?

Please provide me with a link to your slideshow page and give me an example of the problem please...

I followed the advice given in the troubleshooting message.

The CSS code was originally:

#navl {}

I changed it to
#navl {position:relative;z-index:99;}

The original index.php code was:



  <div id="wrapper">

          <?php if ($this->countModules('menu')) : ?>

          <div id="navr"><div id="navl"><div id="nav">

          <jdoc:include type="modules" name="menu" style="none" />

      </div></div></div>

I did not change this as there already seemed to be a wrapper as required.

I applied this to the site and did not see any change.
