[Solved] Update Problems: was created by MvC
Hi !
Whenever I try to update to the latest version of fpss via Joomlas own installation funktion, i get following error message:
-1 - An error has occurred.
Copy failed
facts:
- all necassary Joomla folders (system information/directory permissions) are writable
- all in the fpss documentation (I've read it!!) named folders and sub-folders are writable
- installation of other (non-fpss) modules and components are possible without any problems
System Information:
PHP Built On Linux xxx -Ubuntu
Database Collation utf8_general_ci
PHP Version 5.3.6
Web Server Apache
WebServer to PHP Interface apache2handler
Joomla! Version Joomla! 1.7.0 Stable
So I have 2 Questions:
1) Is there something I have forgotten? Have I done something wrong?
2) Is it possible not to use Joomla installation feature and to update (overwriting files & folders) via ftp?
Thanks a lot in advance !!
Cheers
Mike :)

To update from a 3.0.0+ version to a bigger version, all you need to do is just upload the new package over the previous one. There is no need to uninstall it first as you will lose all your slideshows. Just install on top.

Please install Admin Tools from www.akeebabackup.com/ in order to fix your permissions as they should be and then reinstal the extension.
