Your statistics appear to post a new record in the DB table either for each visit of the page that the FPSS is on or for each time an image is clicked.  Either way with high usage this leads to a rapidly growing table.
Supposedly one can turn the statistics off.  But in this forum someone asked to turn off the display in the Control Panel of the statistics display. The suggestion by someone was to disable the module, doing that stops the slideshow completely??????
Is there a separate module for the Control Panel display or is someone not paying attention.

I have resolved the problem. I turned off statistics and turned off the display of statistics in the control panel.
