[Solved] Individual Slide Settings Breaking Slideshow was created by osn
Using v3.0.5
The category settings are set to hide all items (Title, Text, Tagline).
When I set individual slide settings to do something different than the default (see pic).. such as Show Title, the slideshow breaks.
It does show the first slide with the Title, but doesn't rotate through any slides
Firebug is showing the following error:
Any ideas?
Don't want to leave it broken and not sliding, but can pm access.

I am having the exact same issue with 3.1.0 - the slides do not rotate in Firefox, IE 9, or Chrome when any individual slide setting is set to "Show" (when category setting is "Hidden"). Please let us know if there is a solution.

It's been 19 days since the last post on this (very specifically explained topic) and the issue is still not resolved.
Any chance that could be fixed *very* soon:
Here is what I have found using Firebug:
*****
j.textsTargetPositions[j.settings.current] is undefined
(?)()1 (line 1)
(?)(a=0)1 (line 1)
(?)(d=Object { autoStart=1, transitionTime=750, interval=5000, more...})1 (line 1)
(?)()1 (line 1)
h = div#fpssContainer416.fpss-container
i = Object { autoStart=1, transitionTime=750, interval=5000, more...}
(?)()1 (line 1)
f()jquery.min.js (line 2)
a = [div#fpssContainer416.fpss-container]
c = function()
d = undefined
f(a=function(), b=undefined)jquery.min.js (line 2)
(?)()1 (line 1)
b = Object { autoStart=1, transitionTime=750, interval=5000, more...}
(?)()www.sh...ife.com (line 84)
f(e=Document www.shotgunlife.com, f=[function()])jquery.min.js (line 2)
f(a=undefined)jquery.min.js (line 2)
f()
*****
And this:
*****
j.textsTargetPositions[j.settings.current] is undefined
(?)()1 (line 1)
(?)()1 (line 1)
a = 8
(?)()1 (line 1)
a = Object { originalEvent=Event click, type="click", timeStamp=1329602680043, more...}
trigger()jquery.min.js (line 3)
c = Object { originalEvent=Event click, type="click", timeStamp=1329602680043, more...}
f()jquery.min.js (line 2)
a = click clientX=574, clientY=282
*****
UPDATE: The error above occur when clicking on a thumbnail link to advance to another slide.
As of now, the slide's do not advance (automatically or manually), although all the slide thumbnails can be seen at the bottom of the slide show. By the way, I'm testing with JJ-Obs

[TEMPORARY FIX]
Based on a tip by Katia for a different issue,the following resolves the problem with slides not advancing:
Disable the "Text Effect" option in Slideshow Parameters within the FPSS module.
(Thanks Katia!)

It appears that FPSS version 3.2.0 resolves this issue. Thanks!

I just wanted to report that I have now found scenarios in 3.2.0 in which this issue is still unresolved.
BUT, I've found now that - in Category settings - if I set the Title and Text parameters to Show -- and then I set an individual slide's Title setting to Hide -- everything seems to work OK. (If I do the opposite, FPSS is still breaking/freezing.)
At least this is some improvement, though.

You can only override this issue by Disabling the "Text Effect" option in Slideshow Parameters like it was said before.
The issue remains and Category's options overrides Slides options as a rule.
