String could not be parsed as XML was created by monkeynut

When installing the latest version 3.1.0 for Joomla 2.5 (2.5.1) i get the following error.

"500 - An error has occurred. - String could not be parsed as XML"

Anyone point me in the right direction? As far as i'm aware the permissions are all correct as similar extensions are installing fine.

Also after i get this error and go back to control panel I receive an error notification saying...

Error loading component: com_fpss, 1

The com_fpss folder is there in both administrator and component folders, the mod_fpss is also there, however the component isn't loaded into the admin panel, yet the module is.

Check your permissions in order to verify that you are allowed to install extensions.
Pm me access to your super admin please.
