It would be beneficial if slides could be reused in different categories. This means category selection should be done not via a dropdown, but perhaps akin to Joomla's Module Assignment - checkboxes. Currently I have some 30 products, all of which have a set of slides with only 1 being specific for that product, all the others are the same across all products. So I have 29 excess slides that duplicate content where I could have only one and update only one, if needed.

I take my words back if this can be done somehow with the current latest version, but I have not found the way  ;)
