I have read a similar post regarding this (forum.joomlaworks.net/frontpage-slideshow-%28for-joomla!%29/this-is-not-an-image-file-23185/) but have not managed to figure out whether the issue was resolved in that post.

I am also getting this issue. Everytime I try to upload an image or link to one on the server I get this error message.

I have the latest version of FPSS which I downloaded yesterday and installed. PHP & MySQL are 5.3.8 & 5.0.95 respectively.

All help much appreciated.

I did check this as per posted link. I am creating a new slide under super user id with full rights.

All worked out well. It was the imageGD library that was missing in php. For reference anyone that is facing similar issues with uploading images through FPSS then ensure:

1. your Joomla version is up to date
2. your FPSS is up to the latest version
3. then ensure imageGD library is installed in php. You will probably need to get you hosting company to do this for you.
