[Solved] Override module doesn't work was created by BBallLady
Hi lovely community,
I'm using FPSS 3.2.0 and have trouble using my overrides of the JJ-Rasper css and images:
The css is under \mod_fpss\tmpl\JJ-Rasper\css
the images are under \mod_fpss\tmpl\JJ-Rasper\images
I created the following folders: mytemplate\html\mod_fpss\JJ-Rasper\css & images and copied my adapted data there but it does not work.
Can anyone suggest me the right path for my overrides? I also tried mytemplate\html\mod_fpss\tmpl\JJ-Rasper\css but this doesn't work neither.
I am sure that my changes are in the right sheets because if I override it directly in the original folder it works! :(
Hope you can help me :)
Best regards and all the best

To override one of the pre-packaged templates, simply copy its folder to /templates/YOURJOOMLATEMPLATE/html/mod_fpss/. So if you want to override the "Movies" template, copy /modules/mod_fpss/tmpl/Movies inside the folder /templates/YOURJOOMLATEMPLATE/html/mod_fpss/ (you will first have to create the folder mod_fpss inside your /templates/YOURJOOMLATEMPLATE/html/ folder). Then you just edit the default.php and the 2 css files located in the sub-folder /css to modify the resulting slideshow. By doing this, you obviously don't have to worry about Frontpage Slideshow upgrades overriding e.g. your custom CSS settings on a pre-packaged template.

Hi there, I did this for the first time today and it worked as advertised. I too am on FPSS 3.2.0 (new to it) and Joomla 2.5. One thing I found confusing about the instructions was I was unsure whether or not you needed a tmpl directory under your template. I did it without "tmpl" in the path and it worked fine. You could check that. My first guess is something wrong with your path since it's fairly cryptic. Also check permissions. Good luck!

Hi there,
I did it like described and it worked very well! So I guess the problem was that I didn't copy default.php just the css and images. Maybe this helps other users too :)
Best regards,

Hope posting in this topic rather than starting a new one is the right thing to do, but I'm also having trouble with template overrides.
I've created them exactly as specified here; www.joomlaworks.net/content/view/71/41/ and I can't seem to get any result. I'm using FPSS v3.2.0 and Joomla v1.5.26 . Can anyone give me any tips as to how to get start fixing this problem?

Could you be more specific? And could you provide us a link to your slideshow page too?

Sure, what kind of information would you like to know? Here's the site;
surgien.visualimpactwebdesign.com.au/
The site's under a subdomain at the moment as it's in development, so what you're seeing is largely incomplete. I found eventually that although I would have preferred to do template overrides and keep all aesthetic changes in the theme directory, that wasn't working. What did work was within FPSS itself I duplicated one of the internal themes and starting making modifications in there. It still segments the aesthetic portions of the site between the joomla theme directory and the FPSS directory though. Ideally I would like to know how to get the overrides to work.
If it helps fill in some blanks; there are other overrides in the theme directory that are working at the moment.

Yes I already saw that at the time, it was the instructions I followed to first attempt the template overrides. This however didn't work for me and I had to do a new FPSS theme as described. I want to keep using FPSS on future projects though and ideally would eventually like to sort out the override situation so I'm still looking for answers on how to get this working.
